How can we have a successful national infection prevention and control programme when (in some countries) we do not have a national surgical, obstetric and anaesthesia programmes and also adequate overall clinical and public health medicine infectious disease control programs? Silo apporach on AMR?
This vertical approach to infection control and AMR is creating time and energy and resource wasting management process of strategic plan development in many countries. What is required is support for effective and efficient clinical and public health medicine reagrds infectious disease service delivery as part of stregthening national health services.
