Editorial on CHIFA in BMJ Paediatrics Open (7) Global child health in French, Portuguese, Spanish

1 November, 2018

Dear Liz,

Thank you for your comment: "I find the map of CHIFA members very interesting, one of the issues in expanding the network is how to reach the non-English speaking countries - or how to link with their similar networks, if they have them. Already there are members in the LAC countries - presumably Spanish speaking, so if outreach could be done to the francophone countries of West and Central Africa through bilingual colleagues, this could further the network."

The membership of CHIFA reflects the English-speaking world. Global child health and rights are discussed in French, Portuguese and Spanish on HIFA-French, HIFA-Portuguese, and HIFA-Spanish. Speakers of these languages (or beginners like me who would like to learn) are invited to join us here:

French (collaboration with WHO): http://www.hifa.org/join/rejoignez-hifa-francais

Portuguese (collaboration with WHO & PAHO): http://www.hifa.org/join/junte-se-ao-hifa-portuguese

Spanish (collaboration with WHO, PAHO and Escuela Andaluza de Salud Pública): http://www.hifa.org/join/unase-hifa-espanol

(Note that 'child health' and 'general health' have separate forums in English (CHIFA and HIFA), but we bring them together in general+child health forums for other languages)

Best wishes, Neil
