Introduction: Deborah Cunningham, USA - Hesperian Health Guides

3 May, 2019

I'd like to introduce myself. My name is Deborah and I am responsible for communications and outreach here at Hesperian Health Guides. We created the book Where There is No Doctor and continue publishing and translating our works to help improve the lives of others feel free to check out our website or email me if you want to know more.

But about myself… I began my academic career in psychology and volunteering with at-risk children. It quickly evolved into a career in behavioral health working with children and adults with developmental disabilities, an MPH (specializing in mental health I can't leave psych completely) and a CHES. My passion is in program development and community-based work in a wide range of topics including behavioral & mental health, environmental studies, and health education.

I'm happy to be a part of this group. I have enjoyed the posts I've received so far and hope my future contributions will be helpful. I am always open to be contacted personally regarding the amazing work done at Hesperian, or on any topics I'm personally experienced in. Like many of you (I imagine) I am a bit of a nerd and welcome stimulating discussions!

Thank you,

Deborah Cunningham, MPH, CHES
