Selection of CHWs for pre-service training (5)

10 June, 2019

Dear all I agree with Massimo that CHWs are not encouraged by many countries at the developing countries to provide services in their communities because of their low educational and health knowledge which led to some negative results . In some countries like Yemen we have CMWs  these are trained community midwives providing primary health care as well a basic health services including delivery and reproductive health services at their communities as well as home deliveries at the rural hard to reach areas . Most of them are not employed and supported by local and international organizations such as the national midwifery associations at the country . This has improved the health status of the communities at the rural areas especially women and newborns in areas which are lacking government health services but still there is a need to train more CMWs to meet the need
