BMJ GH: Defining global health as public health somewhere else (6)

26 January, 2020

Dear all,

"Global Health" does not mean public health somewhere else, because then my country and others will not be included. Global Health means global. It is "Public Health everywhere".

As a researcher and lecturer at the Deggendorf Institute of Technology (Technische Hochschule Deggendorf) I am part of a group of people developing a new Master course. We had the same discussion about the naming of the course. We decided to call it "Global Public Health". The title shows that we will teach public health but in a global context.

This "Global Public Health" Master course will be taught in English language. We will provide it mainly as an online course with one summer school per semester. If anybody is interested in participating in the discussion of the preparation of the course, feel free to contact me.
