CALL FOR ABSTRACTS- no later than Monday, March 30th, FOR JOURNAL SUPPLEMENT
Frontline Health Project Call for Abstracts
The Frontline Health (FLH) project is a three-and-a-half-year initiative led by Population Council, Last Mile Health, USAID, and UNICEF with support from Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF) that is part of the Integrating Community Health (ICH) program. The goal of the ICH program is to promote collaboration on a set of jointly defined investment priorities that advance frontline delivery of primary health care and community engagement in health systems. The ICH program focuses on partnership, measurement, accountability, and advocacy to strengthen the role of community health approaches in reducing barriers to health coverage and support national community health policies and implementation plans in seven priority countries: Bangladesh, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Haiti, Kenya, Liberia, Mali, and Uganda. Under the Frontline Health Project, Population Council and various partners are currently conducting research studies in five ICH countries: Bangladesh, Haiti, Kenya, Mali, and Uganda.
To support further global learning on CHW/FLH performance across diverse settings, we invite those working in community health to submit high quality papers for a journal supplement that will span global measurement and country-specific implementation research on CHW performance and community health systems.
The supplement will bring together original research in the field of community health, with a particular aim to scope out the state of knowledge on CHW performance and metrics, particularly, but not exclusively from the extensive work done through the Frontline Health Project and the ICH initiative. In addition to original research articles, we welcome concepts for opinion pieces such as viewpoints.
If you are interested in submitting a manuscript for an original research article, please prepare a 300-word (maximum) abstract including the following sections: introduction/background, methods, findings/results, and a conclusion. Similarly, if you are interested in submitting an opinion piece, please prepare a 300-word (maximum) concept note.
Please send your abstracts and concept notes to Sarah Kennedy (email@example.com) no later than Monday, March 30th. Once abstracts are screened, Sarah will follow up individually with next steps. Please do not hesitate to reach out to Sarah with any questions.
*FLH is also exploring a separate supplement focusing on practical programming and implementation pieces such as (but not limited to) short reports, field action reports, and country case studies. More details on this supplement and a call for concepts will be sent within the coming weeks.*
