COVID-19 and Mass Gatherings- Public Plenary Event
The impact of the pandemic on Mass Gatherings now and in the future
Wednesday 27th January 2021 – 16:30–18:00 CET
During 2020 many events – sports, faith-based and industry/cultural/political events – were cancelled, postponed or modified due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Learning from the experience of those faced with the insurmountable task of managing these cancellations, postponements and modifications, will be critical as the world moves into a sustained “new normal”. WHO is hosting a webinar to share experiences from applying a risk-based approach to organizing mass gathering events – taking the lessons learned into 2021 and evaluating the long-term impact on mass gathering events in the future.
This webinar will bring together outcomes from three separate focus group discussions with experts on sports, faith-based and industry/cultural/political mass gatherings, and give recommendations for future gatherings.
Participants will be able to submit questions during the webinar by using Zoom's "Q&A" feature. You may also submit them in advance by sending them to Sarah Hess: firstname.lastname@example.org
