Coronavirus (931) WHO: Special Issues on Infodemiology (4) Health literacy

21 August, 2020

Thanks to Joseph Ana for placing an emphasis on individual health literacy in combating mis/disinformation. The higher the level of health literacy the lower the likelihood that a person will confuse misinformation with truth.

In a way, having a good level of health literacy in an infodemic is analagous to having a good level of health when facing a pandemic: you are less likely to experience the acute symptoms (of a bad virus/of bad information).
