Coronavirus (978) Impact of (lack of) access to health research on COVID-19 pandemic - and vice versa

14 September, 2020

Dear HIFA colleagues,

On behalf of the HIFA Access to Health Research working group, I would like to put three questions for your comment and discussion:

1. To what extent has (lack of) access to health research information been a contributing factor in the severity of the COVID-19 pandemic?

2. To what extent has (lack of) access to health research information been a contributing factor in the spread of misinformation ralating to COVID-19?

3. What (if anything) will be the impact of COVID-19 and misinformation on open access and other initiatives to increase access to health research information?

Your inputs will be synthesised and will contribute to a Roundtable event that we are preparing for the deferred Geneva Health Forum in November 2020.

Best wishes, Neil
