The bumpy road to better health: How embedded research strengthened health services in Ghana- https://www.who.int/alliance-hpsr/resources/publications/bumpy-road-bett...

The Alliance and its partners at the Ghana Health Service and the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation are pleased to share a dynamic multimedia story of change that explores how an experiment in the north of Ghana transformed health and well-being in rural communities. It gives a glimpse of how health staff in remote and rural areas are working tirelessly to prevent the deaths of mothers and children. And it shows how a radical approach to health research, known as embedded research, has revolutionized how the government delivers health services under difficult circumstances.

Presented as a ‘digital longform’, the multimedia story provides an in-depth look at how Ghana’s embedded research programme has evolved and it outlines five steps that were important for its development.
