World Health Summit 2021 - Challenges for Children Today: Climate, COVID and Commercial marketing: Tuesday 26 October 2021 CEST

23 October, 2021

I have just sent this to our sister forum CHIFA (global child health) but am sending also to HIFA as it is highly relevant to adult health also. Climate change and commercial marketing in particular will have the greatest impact on the future adult health of those who are currently children. And all three issues - Climate, COVID and Commercial marketing - are dependent on our collective ability to promote the availability and use of reliable healthcare (and science) information and to protect people from misinformation.

Subject: [EXT] SAVE THE DATE World Health Summit 2021 - PD 24 - Challenges for Children Today: Climate, COVID and Commercial marketing: Tuesday 26 October 2021 11.00 - 12.30 (CEST)

“A future for the world’s children” was launched by the WHO-UNICEF-Lancet Commission at the beginning of 2020 and called for a much broader focus on child and adolescent health, well-being, and social development - expanding on the impressive gains made in young child survival over the past few decades.

The COVID-19 pandemic has derailed many of our collective ambitions, but next week, at the World Health Summit in Berlin, a group of leaders, of all ages, will discuss how we go forward; how we learn from such global upheavals to create a better future for our children. Please join us. Click on Challenges for Children at 11:00 Tuesday 26 October.
