Report of training seminar on Health Literacy, Cameroon

On the 29th of April 2017, in Yaoundé a training seminar on Health literacy was organised by HIFA Country Representative for Cameroon, Didier Demassosso. Objective of the training seminar  i) increase HIFA membership in Cameroon  and ii) increase awareness of  health literacy as a means to promote health  This training was intended for members of the GREENWHITE NGO, an organisation devoted to social issues in Cameroon.

HIFA Country Representative Dr. Muhammad Asaduzzaman receives SIDA grant for AMR research

HIFA Country Representative in Bangladesh, Dr. Muhammad Asaduzzaman has been awarded the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA) grant to conduct research on Antimicrobial Resistance. SIDA works to contribute in implementing Sweden’s Policy for Global Development. In response to this prestigious grant call for 2017-2018, 138 proposals were received and after rigorous review process by the Scientific Advisory Group members, only 13 proposals have been selected for funding.

The summit brought together large delegations of government officials, diaspora members, policymakers, education, research and development institutions, senior hospital directors & CEOs. Dignitaries included the Honorable Dr Jane Ruth Aceng, Minister of Health for Uganda and many others from the region.

HIFA Country Representative Gladys Dadzie celebrates HIFA Awareness Day in Accra, Ghana

HIFA in collaboration with Your Health Matters Ghana (YHMG) created an awareness day in Ghana on the 10th of March, 2017 at the Aviation Social Centre in Accra, Ghana.  The event was well patronized by stakeholders in the health sector including medical doctors, nurses, health professionals, administrators, corporate organizations, medical and nursing students as well as a significant number of the general public.  There were lectures on diabetes, hypertension, prostate education and general healthcare information delivery.
