Congratulations to Richard for this reward. This is despite the fact that Richard is not somebody that can be valued by money or financial rewards. Richard is a great human being, great scientist, great public health advocate, he is a great fighter on behalf of the marginalized groups and a huge and strong voice for health equity and more important than all this is that he is a great promoter of health information for all. I will never forget his support to establishing the "Open Access Policy of WHO". I will never forget his support to the Lancet series "Health of Palestinian populations under occupation" and the annual side event at the WHA and the Conference on the topic. Once again congratulations to Richard and wish him good health. I also wish that all Elsevier journals follow the Lancet in becoming more open for readers in developing countries.
