Apologies for cross-posting
We are sad to announce the joint decision by the HLG Committee and Novus MEM to postpone the CILIP HLG Conference 2020, due to the Coronavirus.
Whilst we had previously taken the view that our brilliant conference was not until July and we had hoped to be back to normal by then, it is increasingly clear that this will not be the case. I'm sure you will agree that it is best to put the welfare of everyone involved first and to eliminate as much uncertainty as we can in these uncertain times.
However, please be assured that “postponed" does not mean “cancelled” and we are already putting plans in place for an even bigger and better conference just as soon as we can! We will not attempt to make the event “virtual", which would have cut out a huge part of the networking capability for all delegates, and of course we would all miss out on the chance to experience the beautiful surroundings of the Cairngorms. This conference is so important in the diaries of our members, not just for its content but for its delegates who enjoy meeting up with each other so much, and we are not going to let you down!
I am now in talks with the venue in Aviemore to agree a new date and I hope to be able to convey this date to you within the next two weeks. All current registrations, both for speakers and delegates, will automatically roll over on to the new dates and it will not be possible to book new registrations until we have secured new dates.
I am certain you will have many questions at this time, but I ask you please to wait until we have confirmed the new dates before I try to answer you. These are unprecedented times and, in 12 years of operation here at Novus, I have never had to postpone a conference before, so please bear with me!
I wish you all well and safe, and look forward to better times in Scotland's beautiful Highlands.
All the best,
Novus Marketing & Event Management
