Maternal and neonatal outcomes after caesarean delivery in the African Surgical Outcomes Study (3)

18 March, 2019

I was saddened to see the statistics about the complications of searing section in the African continent.

The tragedy of maternal death or morbidity and damage to the new baby, as well as the tragic consequences for the families involved must have significant financial and social costs to the communities and adverse effects on the progress of the next generation.

Improvements in the management of labour and safe cesarean section could bring about a great improvement.

The so-called developed nations could do a great deal to assist in this goal.
