We are pleased to announce that two new resources for the implementation of HIV viral load testing are now available.

Produced as part of the capitalization of the OPP-ERA project, these two practical resources are the result of cross-disciplinary perspectives and collective reflection between the coordination teams and those mobilized in the field for 6 years, they will be useful to all actors involved to operationalize HIV viral load testing in Western and Central Africa and beyond.

The Guide to operationalize HIV viral load testing HIV presents 60 lessons learnt from the project in a systemic approach including: viral load strategy, laboratories, procurement and supply management, patient care and economy.

TWO NEW RESSOURCES TO IMPROVE ACCESS TO VIRAL LOAD TESTING for people living with HIV

The HIV Viral Load Testing Operational Guide presents 60 lessons learned from the OPP-ERA project, with recommendations and implementation tips and solutions. It advocates for a systemic approach to viral load implementation (including strategy, laboratory, supply, patient care and economics) to ensure sustainable access to viral load testing and its effective use to become reality for a greatest number of patients

HIV Viral Load Testing Toolkit

offers 90 practical tools for HIV viral load implementation, for laboratories (GLP implementation procedures, sample processing and analysis, biosafety), for procurement (quantification, supply, transport, storage and maintenance), sample collection, data management, patient care and national strategy.

The goals of this Toolkit and this Guide are to share the richness of our experience acquired during six years of the implementation of the OPP-ERA project in the Republics of Burundi, Cameroon, Côte d’Ivoire and Guinea. All these resources will be useful to all actors involved in the operationalization of HIV viral load testing in the sub-region and worldwide.

"To implement HIV viral load testing, the mere choice of a technical solution is not enough. It is essential to create all the necessary conditions. This is what we wanted to explain trough these ressources for all HIV viral load testing actors." Louis Pizarro, Solthis' CEO
