'Ahead of World's AIDS Day, UNICEF released the global and regional snapshots on the HIV/AIDS epidemic among children and adolescents, showing that in 2018, globally, 190,000 new HIV infections occurred among adolescents aged 10-19, and 3 in 4 of them were girls. In sub-Saharan Africa, 4 in 5 new HIV infections among adolescents occurred among adolescent girls.'
