Thank you very much Neil. First, I want to say that I am glad to be on HIFA's mailing list and I get to learn on various issues and also be informed of what other colleagues are doing around the world.
My colleague and I have started some work on our own and the International Year of Nurses and Midwives provides a fantastic platform. I would like to see if there are other things that I could with nurses in other parts of the world.
1. My colleague and I started Conversations: Nurses Making Connections in 2017 to provide nurses, in particular new nurses, a place to share their experiences, learn from each other, and support one another. It is on a volunteer basis. We have been holding the Conversations either monthly or every three months depending on the response when we sent out the information for the event.
2. We are also embarking on writing a series of books for children focusing on nursing. The goal is to create a positive image of nursing among children in Singapore.
3. We will also be submitting a short film to WHO for Health Film for All in celebration of International Year of Nurses and Midwives.
4. Later in the year, we hope to create motivational cards for nurses. This is still in ideation stage at the moment. Once it is firmed up, we hope to get started on this.
