HIFA is delighted to announce a new project: Mental health: meeting information needs for substance use disorders
Lack of availability and use of relevant, reliable healthcare information, misconceptions and stigma are major contributing factors to suffering and death related to substance use disorders. Over the coming 12 months we shall run a series of thematic discussions on the HIFA forums, guiding our 20,000 members on an in-depth exploration of the information and learning needs of the general public, health workers and policymakers around three priority topics:
1. Smoking addiction
2. Alcohol addiction
3. Opiate addiction
The geographical coverage will be global, including both high-income and low- and middle-income countries.
We aim to start our first discussion - on smoking - later in November 2022.
