Global Health: Science and Practice

13 September, 2025

Dear HIFA colleagues,

Global Health: Science and Practice is one of the most important journals in global health and we have publicised and discussed many of its papers. I am forwarding this message from Core Group. It is encouraging to see renewal of operations further to the recent dismantling of USAID.

Dear Colleagues,

The Global Health: Science and Practice (GHSP) journal is back after the Johns Hopkins Center for Communication Programs (CCP) was forced to cease journal operations in February with the dismantling of USAID.

CCP is especially proud to have published the August 2025 issue despite these cuts, reaffirming GHSP’s role as a free, open-access journal that bridges the gap between knowledge and action for health practitioners and researchers in more than 140 countries.

GHSP depends on all of us. You can help #KeepGHSPOpen by:

• Registering for our September 16th webinar (9:00-9:45 am EDT) to hear about our plans and learn how you can get involved https://jh.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_bIVMgIpGSk2Eki96ZsPDrg#/registration

• Donating: secure.jhu.edu/form/JohnsHopkinsCCP (All donations will be automatically directed to GHSP until September 30.)

• Amplifying the #KeepGHSPOpen campaign using our social media toolkit https://ccp.jhu.edu/ghsp2025

• Sharing the latest issue with colleagues https://www.ghspjournal.org/content/13/1?current-issue=y

Every contribution – big or small – brings us closer to sustaining this vital global good.

Best regards,

Ruwaida Salem
