From the clinic to the climate crisis, from structural racism to child poverty, WHAM is a collective of clinicians, academics, and activists taking seriously our ethical responsibility in the 21st century. We believe that health doesn’t stop at the hospital door, and neither should we.

At WHAM, we think it’s time to move beyond a biomedical bubble and ask: what does good care really look like in an unequal world? How do we show up for our patients—and for each other—when the very structures we work in are under strain? Our work spans the local and global, the philosophical and the practical, and we're proud to build a community where clinicians can think critically, act courageously, and advocate collectively.

This autumn, we’re teaming up with the International Child Health Group for a WHAMinar exploring how to deliver just and compassionate child health care in a world marked by widening inequalities—both in the UK and globally.

Through a lively panel conversation led by Dr Guddi Singh with leading practitioners, we’ll ask how clinicians can navigate moral distress and professional responsibility under constrained conditions. If you're tired of siloed conversations and are seeking a space to connect, reflect, and act—come along. Better still, join us! WHAM is growing, and we need

sharp minds, big hearts, and steady hands.

Let’s build the kind of medicine the future deserves.
