Dear all,
AI is developing exponentially in Africa, particularly in the field of healthcare. Many startups are creating their own AI to improve access to care, enable access to patient records, reduce health inequalities, and more. But AI is not human, and given the cultural, social, political, and economic challenges of healthcare, will AI be able to take charge of healthcare in poor countries, particularly in Africa? As part of the Global Health Innovation Forum (November 19-21), we are organizing a panel on innovation (social and technological) and communities to discuss other forms of innovation, the appropriation of AI by communities, and to offer a critical social science perspective on AI in the field of healthcare.
You are welcome if you are interested.
