Greetings & Introducing Your Health in 3 Takes (YH3T)

1 December, 2025

Good morning everyone,

I’m Flavio Witllin from Brazil. At our director Neil’s suggestion, I’m pleased to share my on-the-groundwork advancing global health and

environmental literacy.

I’m introducing the e-manual *Your Health in 3 Takes (YH3T) <https://abrir.link/qygIh>*, which I developed and have used in workshops

internationally. On page 19, you’ll find a practical example: three one-minute videos covering the YH3T method, health professional training, and public disease prevention.

I recommend starting with the attached *“Summary of the YH3T Methodology”*, which explains this tool designed to empower public health, promote healthier habits, recognize rights, and counter disinformation. [*Note from HIFA moderator (NPW): HIFA does not carry attachments. I have pasted the text below]

SUMMARY OF THE YH3T METHODOLOGY

Your Health in 3 Takes (YH3T) is a talking circle offline methodology that uses only a smartphone camera and a

mini projector.

It is designed to work equally well in small groups (6-10) and large gatherings (100+).

Key YH3T features include real-time results, affordability, simplicity, and high-intensity engagement.

Implementing the YH3T methodology involves 5 dynamic steps.

Step 1: Participants and mediators collaboratively choose a generative health theme relevant to their workplace,

school, or community setting.

Step 2: Volunteers dramatize the group's chosen theme.

Step 3: Other volunteers take 3 photos to capture the core of the dramatization.

Step 4: The 3 images, which together tell a story, are projected onto a wall.

Step 5: The 3-photo story is used to spark the talking circle.

The YH3T methodology was implemented in Brazil's Unified Health System (SUS), a juvenile detention center in

São Paulo and with the large public mobilized by Rio de Janeiro's Social Service of Commerce (Sesc ARRJ). From

2016-2021, YH3T engaged ~200 audiences in high-intensity participation across a myriad of health themes. Every

time, the audiences served as both creators and observers of their own visual narratives.

Finally, YH3T has exceptional global replication potential, as it transcends barriers of age, literacy, education,

language, and culture.

NOTE: Some stakeholders question YH3T's qualitative foundation from my National School of Public Health

dissertation, preferring conventional tools like leaflets, banners, lectures or videos.

This invites a critical question: what rigorous evidence supports the effectiveness of these tools?

My plan is to run future quantitative research to demonstrate YH3T's significant impact on global health literacy.

Meanwhile, I believe YH3T must continue empowering people to improve their health habits and achieve a better

quality of life.
