We understand that the webinar time is not ideal for many locations, but registered participants will receive the recording link later and will also be able to participate in a Case Study activity (starting the following month) and receive credits from NAADAC, the US institution that accredits addiction professionals.

Webinar objectives:

• Raise awareness among cardiologists about the impact of tobacco and nicotine use , tobacco smoke exposure on cardiovascular health.

• Promote the systematic integration of tobacco and nicotine cessation interventions as an essential part of cardiovascular clinical management, especially in secondary prevention.

• Address myths and concerns about the use of tobacco cessation medications.

• Teach how to implement effective brief interventions.

• Address the Tobacco Industry Harm Reduction narrative

Expert in the health effects of secondhand smoke and e-cigarettes, biostatistics, and the tobacco industry tactics against public health policies.

HIFA profile: Eduardo Bianco is a medical doctor and Cardiologist, Certified Tobacco Cessation Expert with a Masters in Prevention and Treatment of Addictive Disorders. Currently, he is Chair of the World Heart Federation Tobacco Expert Group. Dr. Biancos research examines tobacco control and cessation, and he is a prominent member of several organizations that address tobacco control in Latin America. Dr. Bianco has worked for 25 years in Uruguay and Latin America to promote and train in smoking cessation treatment and tobacco control policies.
