Dear Friends/Colleagues:
In April 2020, when Covid shut down much of the world, the medical faculty at the University of Botswana requested that the Dept. of Medical Education provide frequent updates of progress towards bringing the pandemic under control. That update became my responsibility and involved daily online searches of the major Global North and South medical and surgical journals and emailing hot-linked titles of pertinent articles. Covid articles predominated for the first months but so many other useful and pertinent articles across the breadth of healthcare showed up that coverage expanded to any articles of particular value in Botswana and other African countries. Currently, the 5 day/week digest lists article titles that are of general interest with only a few on Covid. Specialty subgroups mail-outs include endocrine, trauma, ob-gyn, critical care, breast cancer/ melanoma, anesthesia, ped surgery.
Here’s the link for 5 June 2026 digest — https://maggiesmusings688820798.com/ub-medical-information-digest-friday... --most are from peer-reviewed journals with an occasional news release. Am happy to add anyone to the mailout list.
