Dear colleagues,
I am delighted to share the first episode of Healthy Futures, a new conversation series by Children for Health exploring the ideas, evidence and partnerships shaping the future of global health.
In this inaugural episode, I had the privilege of speaking with Dr Gaya Gamhewage, then Director of Communications at the World Health Organisation, about how children's health literacy can shape the future of global health.
Our discussion explores:
The role of effective health communication in improving health outcomes.
Why health literacy is about more than access to information.
The importance of trust, participation and community ownership.
How children can be recognised as active contributors to healthier families and communities.
The need to strengthen the evidence base for child health literacy and agency.
We hope the conversation will stimulate discussion among colleagues working in public health, education, health communication and community engagement.
