Greetings from Morocco.
My name is Ikram Eseghir. I am the President of NABD-BC2 Association for breast cancer, a patient advocate, Vice-President of the Moroccan Alliance of Cancer Patient Associations and a member of the NCD Alliance Our Views, Our Voices Global Advisory Committee.
I am pleased to join the HIFA community following the recent IAPO webinar on patient safety and NCDs, where I contributed from the perspective of lived experience.
My work focuses on cancer advocacy, access to care, patient education, supportive care and the meaningful involvement of people living with NCDs in health policies and services. I firmly believe that lived experience constitutes essential evidence for patient safety. People living with NCDs can identify gaps that healthcare systems may overlook, including delayed diagnoses, fragmented referrals, medicine shortages, inadequate communication and unsafe transitions between hospital and home.
I look forward to learning from HIFA members, sharing experiences from Morocco and the wider Eastern Mediterranean region, and contributing to discussions on equitable access to reliable healthcare information and safer NCD care.
