Thank you for inviting members to consider, and join. I have active accounts in X (Twitter) and Bluesky, having joined both Twitter and Bluesky very early after it was launched.
Bluesky is being used by some key actors in health activism and health advocacy, although more health-actors remain on X/Twitter for the reach, circulation and exposure.
I would be pleased to join and support HIFA work in this area. I would advocate for a joint presence - on both platforms.
Bluesky has a growing membership from progressive agencies and individuals but also needs to monitor for "bad actors" (and does this and does it well). No social media platform is immune to bad actors (eg hate speech, deliberate misinformation etc) but Bluesky has active and applied policies to deal with it.

Dr Ann Lawless, Australian health activism
HIFA profile: Ann Lawless is a sociologist and patient representative, currently based in Australia. She has worked in a community health centre as a health worker, has taught health issues at university level including Indigenous health; and has an active and long term interest in health advocacy.
