Official visit of the president of the World Federation of Science Journalists (WFSJ) to Yaounde - Cameroon (November 24–28, 2026)

3 October, 2026

Dear friends of HIFA,

Hello. The President of the African Confederation of Science Journalists (CAJS/ACSJ) announced, in a press release dated 2 October 2026, that Mr Ben Deighton, President of the World Federation of Science Journalists, would be making an official working visit to Cameroon from 24 to 28 November 2026 in Yaoundé, the African headquarters of the ACSJ.

This visit is of paramount importance given its implications for the development of science and health communication and journalism in Africa. It will also have a definite impact on debates concerning the accessibility and availability of scientific, health and healthcare-related information.

For HIFA, this event is crucial, as we encourage the whole world to embrace the idea of universal access to reliable health information.

We are delighted to welcome and meet Mr Ben Deighton in Cameroon, this ‘Africa in miniature’.
