Hi Everyone,
The paper is good and reinforces the idea that the more surgeries you perform, the fewer complications you will have, but the important thing is to determine how we can reduce the number of surgeries to achieve competency while preserving patient safety.
In this paper, they estimate that competency was achieved at around 70 surgeries, which is close to the magical number many papers have found in their research; most say it is around 80. But can we achieve this with fewer surgeries? The answer is yes, as demonstrated by papers by Ann Sofia Thopmson and Akshay Nair and by prior simulation-based training.
What is the experience of others in the forum?
