I am always skeptical about this kind of study that asks people about their perception of false information.

According to this one, 24% of respondents have "seen health misinformation on" vaccines and 18% on climate change. However, the U.S. Secretary of Health, Kennedy, relentlessly attacks vaccines and claims that the measles vaccine could cause autism. What are we to make of the 24% mentioned above? Does this mean that 76% of respondents have never heard these statements, or similar statements by UK antivaxxers? That seems impossible. Or that this 76% believes these statements are accurate? That also seems impossible.

Likewise, what should we think of the 18% who have "seen misinformation on climate change"? Does this mean that 82% of respondents have never heard Trump or people in the UK say that climate change is fake news? That seems impossible. Or that this 82% believes these statements are accurate? That also seems impossible.

It is surprising that the authors of the study do not point out these incongruities or address them. Such strange results, combined with the fact that the authors leave this peculiarity uncommented, can only lead one to refrain from using this study.
