Dear HIFA Team,
Greetings from the Youth Coalition Against Cancer (YOCAC), Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nigerian Cancer Society, Nigeria.
My name is Joshua Akaa, and I serve as the Director of Research, Education and Innovation at YOCAC FCT. I am reaching out to explore a potential collaboration between HIFA (Healthcare Information For All) and YOCAC FCT as we prepare to commemorate World Cervical Cancer Elimination Day on 17 November 2026.
As part of our commitment to strengthening cancer awareness, education, advocacy and youth engagement, we are organising a Cervical Cancer Awareness Walk and an accompanying educational webinar to mark this important global health observance.
Our primary target populations are children, adolescents and young people. We recognise that empowering younger populations with accurate, age-appropriate health information, particularly on HPV infection, HPV vaccination, cervical cancer prevention and healthy behaviours, is essential to building a generation that is informed and actively involved in cancer prevention and control.
In view of HIFA's global commitment to improving access to reliable healthcare information, we believe that your organisation would be a valuable partner in this initiative.
We would particularly appreciate HIFA's support in the following areas:
1. Expert Speakers: We would be honoured to have HIFA recommend or facilitate access to qualified speakers, healthcare professionals, public health experts or researchers who could contribute to our webinar, particularly in HPV prevention, cervical cancer elimination, adolescent health and cancer education.
2. Knowledge and Educational Resources: Support in identifying and sharing credible educational materials, publications and evidence-based resources that can strengthen our awareness activities.
3. Knowledge Dissemination: Assistance in amplifying our event and its educational messages across relevant HIFA communities and professional networks.
4. Technical Collaboration: Opportunities for knowledge exchange, expert engagement and future collaborative initiatives focused on cancer education, health literacy and youth participation in public health.
5. Continued Partnership: We would welcome opportunities to develop a sustainable relationship with HIFA beyond this event, particularly in research, health information accessibility, capacity development and cancer advocacy.
We believe that collaboration between HIFA and YOCAC FCT would create an opportunity to connect global health knowledge with local youth-led action, ensuring that reliable information reaches communities where it is needed most.
We would be grateful to know whether HIFA would be interested in supporting this initiative and whether there are appropriate members, experts or partner organisations you could connect us with for the webinar.
We would be pleased to share further details about the proposed programme, audience, format and speaking arrangements.
Thank you for your continued commitment to making reliable healthcare information accessible to all. We look forward to the possibility of working together towards a future where young people are informed, empowered and actively engaged in cancer prevention and control.
Warm regards,
Joshua Iorember Akaa
