In 2001, the Medical Center of Sumapaz created the model of comprehensive health care under the premise of guaranteeing access to health care for the rural population, based on a very accurate interpretation of the health needs and the design of contextualized and creative intervention strategies. The team conducts routine home visits and links patients from the community to specialized health care services.
Additionally, their training focuses on environmental care and community building, use of medicinal plants, home gardening, and food safety.
