3Japanese children under the pandemic (3)

22 April, 2021

Dear Muhammad

Thank you for your comments.

My interest is in knowing how the parents and children are coping, whether any specific interventions are in place.

Thank you for the comment.

The participants of this questionnaire study were recruited using several official and private ways.

So, their backgrounds are varied.

It is difficult to clarify any specific interventions for each family.

But several parents and children gave comments that answering the questionnaire made them fine.

What was done in Japan?

1. The child care centres were open during school closure.

2. The loss of income was covered by the benefit until the COVID-19 pandemic.

3. Most local governments support private expense (20%). So, medical cost is free for children.

4. All households received cash payment once from the government

5. The lockdown was not compelled. It was a soft one.

Kind regards,

Hajime
