Advocacy on infant formula advertising(9)

5 August, 2020

I agree with the point that Massimo was making, which is that Nestle's reputation is generally high and it is not widely known among the general public, how much damage they are doing through unrestricted marketing.

There is a global boycott campaign against Nestle organised by Babymilk Action www.babymilkaction.org<http://www.babymilkaction.org> and I encourage our readers to follow this. However the boycott has been going on so long that I suspect most people have forgotten about it and are in any case are addicted to Kitkat and the other 'delicious' and child-friendly products produced by Nestle.

However I would encourage CHIFA members to consider practical steps to take in this situation rather than putting out further invective which is not going to change the situation.

The most urgent one is to persuade our national government and our professional colleagues to take the International Code seriously.
