Dear Neil
Thank you for raising an interesting question "What works and what doesn't work to increase awareness of educational videos on alcohol and other health issues?". I've noticed a recent increase in interest in understanding what works and what doesn't work around the use of educational videos, (not specifically around alcohol) but often these are smaller-scale studies that relate to specific contexts. However, I came across a recent systematic review/meta analysis study abstract around video interventions around nutrition, health and use of health services that might provide some guidance.

For this group's information, Medical Aid Films is working with the WHO/EU Evidence into Action Alcohol Project (EVID-ACTION) to create a 3-minute animation based on the WHO/Europe’s most recent factsheet on alcohol and cancer.
( https://www.who.int/europe/publications/m/item/alcohol-and-cancer-in-the... ) EVID-ACTION aims to inform European citizens in 30 countries about the harms from alcohol, including the link to 7 types of cancer, based on long-standing evidence and emerging data for Europe, and to shift their attitudes to lower and informed alcohol consumption. We will let the HIFA community know when the animation can be viewed on the EVID-ACTION webpage.
Please get in contact if you would like to know more.
