Announcing New Emergency Care Videos

12 March, 2026

Dear colleagues,

Global Health Media Project is delighted to announce the release of 10 new videos in our Emergency Care series.

The videos include the following topics: First Aid for a Snakebite; First Aid for Choking; Stop Bleeding with Direct Pressure; Placement of a Tourniquet; Splinting a Fracture; How to Immobilize the Neck of Injured People; Pelvic Binder Placement; The Log Roll Technique; Using the Head-Tilt/Chin-Lift; and The Jaw Thrust.

These videos were developed in collaboration with WHO’s emergency care team, led by Dr. Lee Wallis. The content is based on standards of care described in WHO’s Basic Emergency Care (BEC) course and Community First Aid Response (CFAR) course.

The films were shot in Tanzania, Nepal, Kenya, and Malawi.

We will gradually be rolling out the entire series of more than 100 videos over the next few months. Most of the videos are for health workers, some are for community first responders, and there are a set of burn care videos for family members.

The videos are now available in English; we will soon be adding versions in French and Spanish. You can watch them on the Global Health Media website where they are also available for download: https://globalhealthmedia.org/video/

Please feel free to share this announcement with your colleagues.

Thanks and kind regards,

Deb
