Arms sales and children (2)

30 September, 2020

I applaud Imti Choonara for his strong advocacy in the paper published in BMJ Paediatrics Open on the huge traumas done to children through armed conflict. This topic was covered in the ISSOP meeting in Beirut last year and one of the significant papers presented at the meeting covered the arms trade https://www.issop.org/cmdownloads/perlo-freeman-issop2019/

, this is available on the ISSOP website.

The author of the latter paper, Sam Perlo Freeman, works with the Campaign against the Arms Trade www.caat.o<http://www.caat.org>rg.uk which with Medact www.medact.org<http://www.medact.org> is one of the two organisations most active in this field.

As Imti suggests, paediatric organisations could join the call for an end to this immoral trade. Please do become a member of ISSOP if you would like to back this campaign.
