We have had some success at our clinic in Guatemala by giving all parents who come to the clinic, even for visits unrelated to diarrhea, several packets of ORS. This is explained as medicine for diarrhea as they are instructed in its use. This seems to reduce the demand for antibiotics as well as ensuring hydration for the children.Kathleen BraicoCHIFA Profile: Kathleen Braico is a retired General Pediatrician from upstate NY in the US.
