BMJ: Folic acid supplementation and the complexities of blame

Evidence can be in the eyes of the beholder, as we see in this pandemic also. The question of how to weigh population and individual evidence and risk is an important one, and can be complex. Inadequate messaging and convoluted messages are also problems, especially for a rapidly changing, relatively unknown phenomenon. Underlying this may be a decreasing trust in the formal health and medical systems in some countries.
