We are calling for expressions of interest to fund or to take over the Sexual and Reproductive Health Matters Journal.

Unfortunately, despite our best efforts and due to an increasingly restrictive funding environment, without available core funding SRHM will be unable to continue operating past the end of 2023.

As we all know, in the current global legal and political landscape, this is a critical time for sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR). For 30 years, the SRHM Journal has played a key role in the field, with a long-time, trusted reputation. It is the only independent, peer-reviewed, multi-disciplinary scientific journal that has been intrinsically connected to the SRHR movement. It has systematically provided mentorship and support for young researchers and SRHR practitioners especially in the Global South. It is also unique in that it has published in multiple languages with regional editors, and has offered a space to a truly global network of SRHR researchers, policy makers, programme managers, lawyers and activists in the field of SRHR.

The SRHM Journal has never been more needed to help drive evidence into action as we all work towards a world in which SRHR are recognized as fundamental human rights and matters of social justice. We have recently finalized an exciting strategic plan <https://srhm2-cdn-1.s3.eu-west-2.amazonaws.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/1... for the next 5 years <https://srhm2-cdn-1.s3.eu-west-2.amazonaws.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/1... to further our mission. However, without additional resources we will not be able to continue.

The closure of the SRHM Journal would mean that the SRHR movement would lose an important, trusted knowledge platform grounded in human rights and evidence. While we are still fundraising for the continuation of the SRHM Journal, we are also putting out this Call for an Expression of interest.

If you, your organization or your contacts have an interest in saving or taking over this politically and scientifically indispensable Journal in the field of SRHR, we urgently appeal to you to contact us at info@srhm.org <mailto:info@srhm.org?subject=Expression%20of%20interest> no later than 31 July.

Expressions of interest for taking over the Journal should include the following: details about your organization, the organizational ability and financial support that you can provide for the independent running of the Journal for at least two subsequent years, and an operational plan for how you would run the Journal. Submissions should not be longer than two pages. Please note that the Journal is currently published with Taylor and Francis <https://www.tandfonline.com/toc/zrhm21/current>.

Please find further information about the Journal at www.SRHM.org <http://www.srhm.org>.

We look forward to hearing from you.
