Dear HIFA colleagues, I'm following with interest the recent discussions on Cancer Awareness and Expressions of interest for HIFA Project on Cancer in 2025. As all have said, clear and helpful information along with expansion of services is desperately needed. We will stay attuned to developments toward a possible HIFA project on cancer.
At Hesperian Health Guides we want as many people as possible to know about our 25-page booklet covering the basics of cancer, common types, treatment overview, and prevention information. This free resource is now available in 9 languages.
When it was first developed, HIFA members were instrumental in giving us user feedback and we hope more people will find it to use in their work and distribute further.

The drop down menu "In this chapter" allows navigation to the main topics to read online.
On the left hand side there are options to view in: Bangla, Chinese, Haitian Kreyol, Khmer, Nepali, Lao, Portuguese, Spanish.
Also on the left hand side, in all of these languages (except for Haitian Kreyol) there is the option to "download PDF." The PDF is formatted as a printable booklet.
I'm sharing this in appreciation of all of the organizations that have highlighted their important work to address cancer information, prevention, and treatment needs.
