CDC libraries

15 October, 2025

I have heard that entire US Centre for Disease Control library staff was laid off on 10th October, and have not been called back. This attack on people who support researchers in ensuring access to information (and seems to be part of a more general attack on libraries & librarians as well as on researchers in specific fields).

As clarification I am not connected with the CDC, nor a US citizen/resident, but am an information researcher & educator.

There is a petition for reinstatement, if that is allowed on this list https://action.everylibrary.org/cdclibrarypetition
