Hi HIFA Team and members
As midwife, I believe that improving access to reliable health information is essential for preventing cervical cancer and encouraging early detection.
In my view, community health education should be provided in simple, understandable to appropriate language.
Midwives and other health frontline health workers can play and importance role of screening, HPV vaccination and seeking appropriate medical advice.
Community awareness session, antenatal and postnatal health education and engagement with community leaders can help women access reliable information and feel more comfortable asking questions about cervical cancer.
It is also important to address fear, stigma and misinformation with respectful, culturally appropriate communication.
Women should understand that screening is preventable health measure and that early detection can improve treatments outcomes.
I believe that strengthening health education could help improve awareness and access to appropriate services.
