Child streetism is not only in Ghana and African countries, it's probably a global issue. I recently spent three months in Colombia and I saw street children behaving exactly as the Ghana ones in major cities (Bogota, Cartagena), but also in a middle size city like Valledupar.
Years ago I spent time in Brazil and there were street children in Recife (a large northeastern city). At that time there was also a local NGO trying to mitigate (total prevention being impossible) the problem.
Adriano Cattaneo (Italy, where sometimes I see occasional Roma street children not far away from home)
