Children and Wearing Mask - COVID-19 [9]

12 July, 2020

Hi Sarah,

Yes, Sweden’s strategy is somehow unusual...against the tides. There is some evidence that young kids less than 10 may not be expressing the receptors for sarscov-2 as much as adolescents and older people. But more evidence is needed I guess to demonstrate this across ethnicities and the role children may play in the transmission of this virus. Another worrying aspect is how do children safely get back to school in LMIC where not much has been characterised about the key parameters of this pandemic.

Thanks

Innocent.
