Hi Neil,
It appears to be driven by fear, or people trying to spread fear, and mainly coming though WhatsApp and Facebook. I am being forwarded messages and sent Facebook posts daily to ask ‘is this true?’ - almost all are false rumours such as:
- COVID-19 remains airborne for 24 hours and there is no way of protecting yourself
- all truck drivers are being detained in quarantine at borders
- shared ‘official press releases from MoH’ with completely inaccurate information
