A few of us from Wales, Uk have launched a facebook page -masks4u- please ask to join! We are all health professionals who have been involved in health links/ partnerships with Zambia. So not only are we sewing for our own healthcare staff, when the official masks run out, but also empowering our communities that we are linked to in Zambia, to sew their own, using a simple pattern - and using cotton fabric, which could be adapted to add the filter from a vacuum bag. The Minister of Health is informed of the initiative. I am also looking at ways of providing Zambia with a simple ventilator plan- to see if the components can be sought in Zambia, and made by the local people. I am awaiting Dr Thomas, who invented one for out local hospital here in West Wales.
Safe save and we will get through this.
