Greetings -
As a journalist, I've been reporting for nearly four months from the communities that are most directly impacted by the cuts that the Trump administration has made in U.S. support for the global AIDS response. From those interviews with people living with HIV, health workers and officials, I am building a living archive: www.forsaken.life. I thought it might be of interest to some in this group.
Forsaken is an effort to bring attention to exactly how the administration's actions are impacting individual lives. How decisions in Washington are connected to the death of people like Lydia Nabirye <https://forsaken.life/orals/lydia-nabirye/>, who died in Uganda in March after she lost access to a U.S.-funded mental health program for vulnerable families. It is also an attempt to document the transformation of programs that have taken decades to build and are responsible for saving millions of lives.
I hope you will check it out: www.forsaken.life
Thank you,
-Andrew
