Dear Gonca,
The Convention on the Rights of the Child, specifically Article 25, incorporates children's rights within the digital environment. Children and adolescents have the right to access the internet and acquire knowledge.
They also have the right to be consulted on any subject that pertains to them. When they are barred from social media, their voices are not heard.
I believe adolescents are not a homogeneous group. Some are highly sensitive and may be easily affected by certain content, while others in the same group may enjoy and engage with that content without issue. Most studies are conducted at an aggregate level and do not account for individual susceptibilities.
